How To Install A Bathroom Sink Drain

One of the first things you will have to do is drain out the drain pipe. This task is relatively easy and will not take much of your time at all. Please follow the steps below to get this done.

  1. Open the PVC drain pipe kit and ensure that it has every item that is supposed to be there.
  2. Now, loosen the slip and the coupling nuts on the old drain pipe and then compare them to the new drain pipe so that you can access the diameter and the length .this will allow you to make the necessary adjustments you need to make. After that, you can now fit the new drain pipe into the wall and the base of the sink.
  3. Now, tighten the female adapter onto the drain stub on the wall using the drain wrench or the adjustable spanner.
  4. After that, you can now slide the slip nuts on the arm of the drain pipe and the tailpiece of the bathroom sink as well. Make sure to tighten the connection at the base by using a pipe wrench to hold everything firmly.
  5. You can now fit the new p-trap in its place. You can use the plumber’s tape measure to ensure that the connection is airtight on all the joints on the assembly line.
  6. Now place the washers that were provided on the pipe. Make sure to stiffen them so that there are no leaks. Use your hands to tighten the slip nuts. After that, the flexible water supply line is then connected to the tailpieces of the sink’s faucet. You then click them on the specific shut-off valves.
  7. With the adjustable spanner or the pipe wrench in your hand, tighten the coupling nuts.
  8. Now, remove the faucet’s aerator and then turn on the water and allow it to run for some time.
  9. While the water is running, check around to see if you will discover any leaks. When you see no leaks, make sure to tighten the joints with the spanner again, and you are good to go. However, if you discover any leaks anywhere, then it means that there may be overwrapping threads at the joints of the bathroom sink. 3. Loosen the nuts with your pliers and then push up the body. You will have to wiggle them around before they come loose. The residual water in there will now drain out at this point. Now, unscrew the top ring at the tip of the bathroom sink. This will cause the pop assembly to come out from the bottom.
  4. Now, get rid of any old caulk or putty from the drain hole. You will be placing your new putty there around the ring later.

  6. Fasten the top flange to the bottom assembly, conveniently located at the top of the bathroom sink. Once you’ve securely tightened the lock nut on the tail assembly, wipe away any excess putty that emerges using a rag or cloth.
  7. Insert the stopper into the top of the drain, ensuring that the holes are facing the rear of the sink. Look for a ball and rod on the stopper unit and thread it into the pipe. You might need to tighten the nut, or you may need to adjust the stopper until it securely connects with the rod. Now, pass the lever through the hole in the sink and link the horizontal rod with the vertical lever.
  8. Now, feed the lever through the hole in the sink and connect the horizontal rod with the vertical lever.
